Hemisphere Signatures

Liselore started her internationally known colorful dinnerware under the brand name LILO Ceramics. However, there is nothing more fun than always creating a unique piece that transcends the function of utilitarian ware and becomes a work of art. Hence the choice to separate the free work from the brand name LILO because the signatures are all a true Liselore. And Liselore is never the same and is constantly evolving. Where it was once a challenge to turn large even series, it is now a challenge to actually let go of that rigid form. Relying on her technique, Liselore now plays with creating the perfect imperfection. She looks for natural movement in the form that makes it more exciting and creates a dialogue with its surroundings.

As ever, the colorful micro crystal glazes of this collection are inspired by the Haarlem skies. And especially the moments when day and night alternate or different types of weather. The colors created by the rising or setting sun, fog, wind, splashing water from the North Sea or by pours of rain falling from the Dutch sky. Liselore loves nothing more than to marvel at the beautiful play of colors that nature conjures up and tries to capture this in her glazes.

The work is made of German stoneware clay. There is practically no stoneware clay in the Netherlands because it is a delta. This clay just cannot be fired as high. Because Liselore loves stoneware glazes and she finds these look best on white-firing clay, she chooses this base. Because she turns incredibly thin, this is also a necessity because otherwise the work becomes too fragile. After the ceramic is turned on the wheel, it dries for 1 or 2 days until it is leather-hard. Then it is turned, which means that the underside is trimmed giving it an even tighter finish. The work is fired twice. The first time cookie at 1000℃, the second time at 1260℃. Each piece of this collection is unique and gets its own unique numbering.
