New Kintsugi repair kit from Humade
€27,00 VAT incl.
New Kintsugi' is a new way of gluing porcelain, based on the old Kintsugi technique.
The story goes that Kintsugi was developed in the 15th century. The Japanese emperor had his porcelain repaired and got it stapled back. He ordered his craftsmen to come up with something that would be more aesthetically pleasing, a repair with gold.
This method of repair became such a great success that collectors deliberately dropped precious pieces in order to repair them with the gold seams of Kintsugi.
With this 'New Kintsugi kit', Humade combines a beautiful old technique with new technology. By repairing messily, you emphasise the traces and scars of a product and give it a new perspective and beauty. Moreover, it gives the product a long lifespan.
